Abstract

Up to date a number of studies investigated what students feel about using social media for classes and their general attitudes toward online learning. However, no study examined if attitudes toward social media and eLearning are related. A survey study of Japanese college students who are registered in 5 different classes showed that there’s a relationship between attitudes toward blended learning and attitudes toward social media use for academic purposes. The findings also indicated that attitudes toward other types of online learning or having an experience of using a Facebook class page are not related with attitudes toward social media use for academic purposes.
