Abstract

E-learning relies on computer environments which foster its use. Therefore, the issue of the use of technical tools in given situations sums up the reliance placed on computer tools such as wiki, blog, HTML…. This emphasis on the role of technology is further reinforced by various media which claim that “ W2 will lead us to revisit our way of using New Technologies, our way of communicating and learning”, as well as by the necessity to answer fundamental questions such as: how to raise interest? How to facilitate and support the learning experience? This enthusiasm can be explained by the fact that technological tools refl ect the knowledge that people collectively have at a certain point in time. This is why one learns “certain things” by comparing them or, simply, by being in contact with them. These things, which result from human activity and promote refl ection through intellectual activity, are called artefacts. Artefacts allow movement and human attitudes to grow, but they also modify the duty and activity. Consequently, -learning
accentuates and reformulates the issue of technological objects and mediation processes within the framework of knowledge communication. Clarification is therefore required as to the difference between what the technology allow people to do and what they actually do with this very same technology.
