Abstract
Firstly the paper shortly depicts Moodle theoretical framework and principles, in order to focus the attention on the modality how “La Sapienza” is applying them in its e-learning courses.
Secondly, the paper means to show a general view of Moodle functionalities, settings and modules, focusing on how they have been exploited and adapted to the specifi c learning purposes of Ecoenglish course. This course was activated during the second semester 2005 at the Faculty of Economics, to offer students resources, activities, grammar exercises, vocabulary bank of words related to the business fi eld, in order to pass the exam of Business English. The course is addressed to those students who cannot attend face-to-face classes because of their job, but it is also conceived as an integration to the traditional learning path for all the other students regularly attending the lessons in presence. The article hints to the most important modules applied: chat, forum, lessons, quiz, resources.
